Tune DescriptionThis was my first introduction to 50-note Sankyo Bach and Vivaldi are both well represented here. This musical movement has a little bit of German style to it as well. While it's true enough that Vivaldi never wrote specifically for a music box, "Spring" works very well in this arrangement. The music is a good description of springtime. The birds are singing in the trees. This arrangement of "Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring" also works very well. One doesn't usually think of hearing Bach Chorals on a music box, but now - here it is. The music sings as it plays along. If you listen carefully, you can hear the choral apart from the accompaniment. I would say that this is something very original in so far as music box arrangements are concerned. 50 Note MovementThis kind of Nidec/Sankyo movement plays two or three tunes (or parts) and is made in Japan. Playing time is usually about 6 minutes. There are fifty notes (or "teeth") on the comb. There is a lot of bass sound in the comb, and the arrangements are usually very spectacular in nature. Our in-house comb machine and Rick's expertise result in Bell-Like Tuning unrivalled in new movements for decades. |
